In the first week of 2025, I had the pleasure of photographing an intimate Ottawa City Hall wedding. The couple embraced an unconventional approach, opting for a small ceremony at City Hall. In a delightful twist, they exchanged rings purchased from a nearby Dollar store, as their custom bands were not yet ready.
After the ceremony (and despite the brisk -8°C weather), we pulled on our winter boots and embarked on a picturesque walk from City Hall to the historic Fairmont Château Laurier for couple and group portraits, followed by a cozy brunch reception at Wilfrid’s. It was a lovely intimate, relaxed, and heartfelt gathering. Their love story beautifully illustrates the joy of embracing a unique journey, and it was a privilege to capture these meaningful moments for them.
“Love does not consist in gazing at each other, but in looking outward together in the same direction.”
— Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
