Charlotte & Ben’s English Country Wedding in Kent started at a historic country house where the bride and her bridesmaids were getting ready. Beautifully classic, the ceremony and reception were so lovely and laid back, yet filled with charm. These two are teachers who have lived all over the world and came home to their roots to bring family and friends together for a quintessential English party. The first look.
Nothing beats a scene like this. Charlotte walked down the steps towards her doting Father. This is the moment he sees her for the first time in her wedding dress and veil. The joy is palpable in this image. I can still feel that moment now myself as I look back on these images.
While many of the photographs I take are documenting real events as they take place, I also do posed portraits with the couple and family. I look for nice light first to flatter the couple and then a good background. Then I let the couple be themselves as much as possible to get beautiful, natural images.
With the groom being a Crystal Palace FC fan, much of the speeches were centered around football (soccer) stories. It was a jovial meal all round and after everyone had eaten, the party moved to a quaint hall where adults and children alike could enjoy music and games indoors and out.
