Disputably the Best Portrait Kit – Ottawa Wedding Photographer

This camera feels like home to me. This is why I believe it to be one of the best for Ottawa Wedding Photographer portraits and detail images.

This is my favourite camera to use. It’s a Fujifilm X-T1. I love all of the dials and the knobs on the top because I first learnt photography with a film camera, (an analogue camera), so this feels like home. I can access all the most important tools right on the top and the aperture on the lens. And this is one of my favourite lenses to use. It’s a 60 mm f/2.4. It’s a macro lens so it’s my go-to for detail shots and it’s also great for portraits. If you want to read more about the technical specs of the X-T1, take a look at this DP review article.

Sony a7iii

While I love using this camera, many other cameras are much better than it in low light and the autofocus on the X-T1 is not the best. So while I always have this hanging over my shoulder for the shots where it makes sense, I’m mostly using my newer Sony a7iii for Ottawa Wedding Photography. It’s not as fun to use as the Fuji, but it has amazing autofocus. I can also get significantly more detail from images where the lighting is more challenging since it has a full-frame sensor.
