Gemma and Grant’s festival style wedding by Ottawa Wedding Photographer Sara
This festival inspired outdoor woodland wedding was loud and joyous. The couple already had children and wanted to make sure their friends’ kids could all enjoy the party along with the adults. There were plenty of outdoor toys and games and a swing to play on. Face painting was available in the evening and guests were able to sleep in tents on the site the night before and after the party to make it a getaway adventure. Children bring life to weddings. They bring the randomness to an otherwise very adult affair. I love it when a couple is able to make space for them to participate and celebrate together with the grown-ups (and maybe also allow the young at heart also to enjoy themselves). While I don’t mind an adults-only wedding, it’s just another vibe to have kids around to join in on the celebration.
I’d describe this wedding as ‘Boho-Chic’ or ‘Rustic Chic Romance’. A wedding filled with all the makings of a fun music festival filled with a whimsical ambiance. Vintage furnishings and ‘Glamping’ tents filled a clearing amongst the forest woodland. A charming onsite cottage provided accommodation for the couple on their wedding night.
